Take the Scenic Route to Three Sheep: A Yarn Discovery Tour Story

I’m so excited for this year’s Yarn Discovery Tour, and I can’t wait to welcome everyone who makes Three Sheep part of their journey!

If you’ve visited us before, we’re looking forward to seeing you again. And if this will be your first visit to Three Sheep, be sure to put us on your travel route. We’d love for you to stop in, explore the shop, find inspiration, and enjoy a little time surrounded by yarn and creativity.

For this year’s tour, I designed two special patterns especially for the journey.

The knit design,
Take the Scenic Route, was inspired by the map, the adventure, and the making along the way.

Every journey has a destination, and this one is Three Sheep. The path is part of the experience—woven with travel, discovery, and inspiration—but it all leads you here.

Some places aren’t just where the journey ends. They’re why it begins.

As you knit
Take the Scenic Route, you'll quickly settle into the rhythm of the pattern. It's designed to be a project you can enjoy while chatting with friends, visiting with fellow makers, or simply taking a quiet moment for yourself. A beautiful piece that unfolds one stitch at a time, just like the memories made along the way.

The crochet design was created with that same spirit of the journey in mind. It has a little something special at each end, with an easy rhythm through the middle that lets you settle in and enjoy the process. It's the kind of project that's perfect for crocheting with friends, sharing stories, and letting the stitches become part of the experience.

When you arrive at Three Sheep, I hope you'll stay awhile. Browse the yarn, discover the weaving studio, see what's on the looms, and enjoy visiting with fellow makers. Whether you're a knitter, crocheter, spinner, weaver, or simply curious about fiber arts, there's always something inspiring to discover.

The spirit of the journey continues throughout the year with our Ewe & Me Knitting Retreats. Each spring and autumn, we travel together to explore beautiful places, discover local fiber traditions, and enjoy the simple pleasure of knitting with friends. We recently returned from an unforgettable 15-day adventure in Alaska, where we met muskoxen, experienced the remarkable softness of qiviut, and made memories we'll treasure for years to come.
If you're looking for a little Yarn Discovery Tour inspiration, I highly recommend Mark Vogel's YouTube video from last year's tour. He shares his journey, the shops he visited, and the excitement of discovering each stop along the way.

Three Sheep is his final stop, beginning at approximately 43:00, and I was so touched by his kind words about the shop. Whether you jump to our visit or enjoy the whole adventure from the beginning, I hope it gets you excited for this year's tour.
