Visiting Bare Naked Wools: What You'll Find Along the Way

Make Bare Naked Wools Your First Stop on the Yarn Discovery Tour
Hi Fiber and Craft Lovers!

We're Bare Naked Wools, and if you're reading this, you're probably considering joining the Yarn Discovery Tour (YDT) this September 8–27, 2026. Or perhaps this is your first time hearing about the YDT—and if so, you've come to the right place!

We're here to share why the Yarn Discovery Tourhas become such a beloved annual event for fiber enthusiasts, why 2026 is the perfect year to join the adventure, and, of course, why you won't want to miss a stop at Bare Naked Wools along the way.

Whether you're a knitter, crocheter, spinner, weaver, or simply someone who loves beautiful fibers and creative communities, there's something special waiting for you on this year's tourand in each participating shop. Let's dive in!

First of all—yes, we KNIT NAKED!

What do we mean by that? At Bare Naked Wools, we're all about celebrating the natural beauty of wool and other fine fibers. Our yarns are 100% natural and undyed, allowing the unique colors and characteristics of each fiber to shine through.

That means no dyes, no harsh chemicals, and no superwash treatments—just beautiful, high-quality yarns that showcase nature at its finest. From sheep to skein, we focus on preserving the integrity of the fiber so you can enjoy an authentic knitting and crochet experience with every stitch

Yup—no drama here! We simply love yarn, and we love welcoming fellow fiber enthusiasts to our shop.

While we're known for our beautiful natural yarns, that's just the beginning. You'll also find over 600 knitting patterns designed by Anne Hanson of Knitspot, along with select collaborations from other talented designers. Whether you're looking for your next sweater, shawl, socks, or accessory project, there's no shortage of inspiration waiting for you.

When you visit Bare Naked Wools, prepare to browse, dream, and discover. And if you're not quite sure what you're looking for, don't worry! Our knowledgeable and friendly staff are always happy to help you find the perfect yarn, pattern, or project to match your skills, style, and goals. We're here to make sure you leave feeling inspired and excited to cast on your next creation.

We're based in Canton, Ohio—yes, the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame—but we're much more interested in wool touchdowns than football touchdowns! Whether you shop with us online or stop by our cozy shop in person, there's always a little yarn magic happening here.

While our passion is 100% natural, undyed yarns, we occasionally like to shake things up with special edition hand-dyed color collaborations. So don't be surprised if you spot a vibrant pop of color among our natural shades—often paired with an exclusive design created just for the occasion.

If you joined last year's Yarn Discovery Tour, you may remember our wildly popular collaboration with Feederbrook Farm. The response was incredible, and the yarn sold out before the tour even ended! Thanks to such an enthusiastic response, we're coming back this year with another exciting exclusive collaboration, featuring both knit and crochet designs, along with a beautiful new colorway that we can't wait to share with you.

Trust us—you'll want to add Bare Naked Wools to your Yarn Discovery Tour itinerary this year (especially  before we sell out again)!

Shown here was last year's featured knitting design, Brocadia, created in an exclusive fall-inspired colorway for the 2025 Yarn Discovery Tour. We displayed two beautiful samples in the shop—one knit in the exclusive hand-dyed colorway and another in our signature Bare Naked Wools natural tones—so visitors could see how stunning the design looks in both vibrant color and undyed natural shades. Whether you prefer a pop of color or the timeless beauty of natural wool, Brocadia offered inspiration for every style.
