Silver Lining Yarns is a queer woman-owned, welcoming, and inclusive space that is focused on community empowerment and education through fiber arts. In the shop, you’ll find a wide variety of cost effective and luxury yarns, as well as tools for knitting, crocheting, spinning, and more. A carefully curated collection of teachers are available for classes, and as a third space, our community areas are always available, provided there is not a prescheduled event occurring.
With community at the heart of everything we do, we host several weekly and monthly craft inclusive stitch groups, including our Big Queer Craft Club Friday nights 6-8ish, Sip & Stitch Sundays 12-2ish, Silent Stitchers on the second Thursday of the month 6-8ish, and our teen focused Sweet Stitchteen group that meets every other Saturday from 11-1ish. In addition to our special events throughout the month, there's almost always something going on!
Parking is most easily found in the parking lot and Green Parking Deck accessible off 2nd St, with a convenient entrance in the rear. Please note that this entrance does have stairs. For a more mobility friendly entrance, you can either head around the building, or check to see if there's space available in the small lot accessible via Portage Trail between Sage & Lavender and Flury's Cafe then enter through our front door.
